                                       Crispy Moong dal/ Moong dal namkeen Ingredients: Moong dal/ split green gram skinless – 2 cups Red chilli powder as per taste Salt as per taste Oil for deep frying Instructions:        Add moong dal into a bowl and rinse it well with water to get rid of any dirt or dust. Soak them in water for at least 1 hour.          Drain the water and pat dry the moong dal on a paper towel or thin cloth to remove any excess water. If required, you may also sun dry it for 10 to 15 minutes during noon until they stop sticking to the fingers. Crispy Poha/ Avalakki mixture Ingredients: Gatti Avalakki/ Hard Poha/ Flattened rice – 500 gm Peanuts – 1 cup Curry leaves – small bunch Red chilli powder as per taste Turmeric powder – 2 tsp Salt as per taste Oil for deep frying Instructions:         Take a deep-frying pan and add some oil in it. Switch ON the flame and allow the oil to heat. When the oil is heated, add the hard Poha/ gatti Avalakki/ flattened rice into it. Stir occasionally for even frying. In no time, they all start to sizzle and puff up.   TIP 1: Always add the hard Poha into the deep fry strainer. Then, slowly immerse the strainer into the hot oil to prevent any oil from spluttering. This method also eases our task while dishing out. TIP 2: Always use medium to high heat while deep frying. Mixed fruits Custard Ingredients: Custard powder Vanilla flavour – 2 tbsp Milk – 500 ml Sugar – 3 tbsp Red Apple – 1 big size, chopped Pomegranate – 1 big size, de-seeded Bananas – 4 small size, peeled and chopped Dried Cranberries – 1.5 tsp Instructions:          Take a bowl and add custard powder into it. To this, add 4 tablespoons of milk and mix well until it dissolves.           Boil the milk on medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes. When the foam starts to puff up stir the milk and continue to boil it for another 2 to 3 minutes on low flame. Now, add sugar and mix well. When the sugar dissolves, slowly add the custard milk into it while stirring continuously. This helps to avoid the formation of lumps. Let this mixture boil for another 2 to 3 minutes. Keep stirring until you notice bright yellow tinge followed by thickening of the milk. Then, switch OFF the flame. ...
