Tomato Rasam
Tomato Rasam - South Indian special, super simple recipe Ingredients: Tomatoes – 2 medium Tamarind – big marble size Pepper powder – 1 tbsp Cumin powder – 1 tbsp Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp Coriander powder – ¼ tbsp Garlic cloves – 8 to 10 small ones Curry leaves – 2 sprigs Mustard seeds – 1 tsp Dry red chillies – 7 to 9 Coriander leaves – small bunch for garnish Asafoetida – pinch (optional) Salt to taste Oil for tempering Instructions/ Procedure: Wash the tomatoes, cut them to big pieces and place in a container. Add water and cook in medium flame until the tomatoes turn soft. Switch off the flame and add tamarind in the tomato container. Let it soak in hot water for a while.
