Ingredients:
Raw Bananas – 2 big size
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Cumin powder – 2 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying
Take a raw banana and cut the two edges. Apply oil to your palm and fingers. Peel/scrape the outer green layer using a knife or scraper. Thinly slice the raw bananas either into round or rectangular shapes based on your preference. Add these cut slices into the water in order to prevent oxidization. If exposed to air for longer duration the slices turn black in colour.
Take a kadai and add some oil. Heat the pan on medium flame. When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and salt. When the mustard seeds start to splutter, drain the water from the raw banana slices and put them into the kadai, Now, add turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, ginger garlic paste and toss them such that the banana slices are coated well with the spices. Stir fry them for about 2 to 3 minutes. Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes. Now, remove the lid and mix well. Pick a fork and try to pierce it through the banana slice to check if they are cooked. If the fork goes in easily, it means that the slices are cooked well. Otherwise, close the lid and cook for another 5 minutes on low flame. Then, put off the flame and serve hot. Quick and tasty spicy Raw banana fry is ready.
