Sesame Garlic Chicken

Ingredients:

Boneless and skinless chicken – 250 gm
Garlic cloves – 10 medium size, minced
White sesame seeds for garnishing
All purpose flour/ Maida – 3.5 tsp
Corn flour – 1 tsp
Egg – 1
Baking powder – 1/2 tsp
Dark soy sauce – 1/2 tsp
Chilli vinegar – 1 tsp
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Oil for deep frying

Instructions:

       In a small bowl add fresh boneless chicken. Add baking powder, salt, all purpose flour (1.5 tsp), corn flour, oil, egg white and mix well. Let this be marinated for atleast 30 minutes in a fridge.

       In a deep frying pan add sufficient oil and heat it. When the oil is hot add the marinated chicken one after the other into the hot oil and deep fry it on medium flame. Keep flipping it on to the other side constantly for even frying. Be watchful as the chicken cooks faster. When the chicken slightly changes the color to golden brown dish them out on to a clean plate. This is when the chicken will be tender, juicy and flavorful. If they are fried for longer, the meat gets harder and chewy.


       Take a small bowl and add 2 teaspoons of all purpose flour, minced garlic, water and mix well. In a shallow pan add some oil and heat it. When the oil is hot add the mixture of garlic and all purpose flour and saute under low flame. Add dark soy sauce, chilli vinegar and mix well. Allow it to cook for a while until you notice that the sauce is thickening. Now, add sugar, water and mix well. Let this cook further for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Add salt and mix well. Lastly, add the deep fired chicken, sesame seeds and mix well. Make sure that the chicken is well coated with the sauce and sesame seeds. Switch off the flame and serve hot.

       Simple and tasty Chinese style Sesame Garlic Chicken is ready. You may serve it as appetizers or evening snacks. Try it out and let me know your comments.
